METHODOLOGY
Same population data. Now with geography.
PulseKita maps the same DOSM all-sexes, all-ages, all-ethnicities state totals used by the population race onto Malaysian state boundaries. Fill intensity is scaled against the largest state value in each year.
A darker state means a larger population relative to the largest state in that same year; the colour scale is therefore comparative within each frame.
State boundary geometry is provided separately by the open malaysia-geojson project under the MIT licence.
